Top reasons to go on a Disney Cruise Line adventure!
A Disney Cruise Line holiday is an experience like no other. It is without a doubt our favourite holiday as a family, there is just something so magical about a Disney cruise that the experience just does not simply compare to any other holiday.
So why go on a Disney Cruise Line adventure?
First Disney as a company have a reputation associated with their brand and one they wish to maintain. We have sailed on three out of the four ships currently in the Disney Cruise line fleet and each one has been kept spotless. This in itself is no easy task given the amount of passengers on board. However, I can honestly say they take pride in their ships. On one cruise I remember I small child drawing on one of the walls along the corridor, not one of my kids, I might add. Upon leaving our room for dinner the wallpaper had been replaced with a brand new section and it was like it never happened. Things are dealt with instantly.
Food on board also caters for even the fussiest of eaters, in fact nothing is too much trouble. We have never eaten in the adult only restaurant because we are more than happy with the food from the main dining rooms. All guests get to experience all the different restaurants as you are allocated a rota when you board the ship. This rotation is fantastic as you keep the same servers as you rotate, the difference is only the location. Of course you don’t have to eat in the restaurants if you don’t wish. On pool deck there is a buffet style restaurant and fast food type outlets if you prefer those.
Every evening there are Broadway style shows in the large theatres onboard and you can also catch the latest films in the onboard cinema. We watched black panther on the day it was released and loved the experience. We had the crew giggling when we asked for candy floss, as it is cotton candy in American.
There are plenty of opportunities to meet your favourite Disney characters too. Queues are generally quite short and some experiences you can book in advance such as tea with the princesses. Often characters will be walking around the ship and you happen to bump into them. We once joined Peter Pan as he ran around the ship looking for Tinkerbell, it was rather impromptu but so much fun.
The best thing though is waking up somewhere new every morning. Waking up in a new location ready to explore and create memories. Knowing that Disney have taken care of excursions should you wish to go on them. Our favourite port of call has to be Disney own private island Castaway Cay. The only people on the island are from your ship and you suddenly realise just how many people are on board.
We are counting down the days until our next Disney cruise adventure. The excursions have been booked, the pirate costumes are ready and all that’s left to do is board the ship!
