Because Life Is Worth Celebrating : Week 14

by - 06:00:00

Back in July, I decided to start celebrating life, to be happy about the little things and just be grateful for what I have. It's has been a hard year this year up until that point, but somehow now, things just seem a million times better. I'm so grateful for what I have and I'm so proud of the business and life I have worked so hard to build.

This is how my first celebratory post started 'Every Sunday I receive an email from YouBabyMeMummy about her ‘Happy List’ for the week. I love the way Aby takes the time each week to write down the things that she loves and have made her happy. When I started Mummies Waiting 5 years ago, it was to track mine and my children’s lives and to celebrate the great but along the way, that has been pushed to the side and now Aby’s weekly emails have inspired me to bring our celebration back. So I’m starting a new weekly series to celebrate our lives, ‘Because life is worth celebrating’.'

Every week, I still ready Aby's posts, but now I'm also so grateful to be able to go back and read my own post. So here is week 14 and this is what I'm celebrating!

1. New Clothes

This week I wrote my post for Simply Be after they kindly sent me some wonderful clothes. I loved posing in the garden and in front of the tree, I was completely out of my comfort zone, but it was a great experience!

2. Amazing Friends

I am so lucky to have some amazing friends. My wonderful friend Nicola who travels down to see me once every month, she drives for hours just to spend time with us and I appreciate her so much. Also my lovely friend Aby Moore (From YouBabyMeMummy) who has changed my life around. I've gone from calling food banks to knowing I can save some money for Christmas, I will never be able to thank her enough, she is an amazing lady. Lastly, all our friends who visited on our birthdays, it was so wonderful to see them all.

3. Birthday in Cambridge

We went to Cambridge this week and visited the pop-up Disney store. It was packed in there, but I'm so happy we got the chance to go in and take a look. It was also so lovely to go have dinner with our friends and just take a nice long walk. I love how they are all so amazing with our girls.

4. Taking a massive step with my girls

After panicking, the wonderful ladies over at the Inner Circle convinced me to go for it... this week I took my girls to London Zoo all by myself! It was exciting and scary, but I'm so proud of myself for doing it and we had an amazing day!

5. Hitting 500 likes!

OMFG!!! I hit 500 likes on facebook! It was absolutely amazing and I really am so grateful for each and every single one of you following me. If you are not following me and you want to (no pressure!) you can head over here --> Mummies Waiting

6. Capturing the best pictures

I've really been trying to make the effort to catch some lovely pictures recently. I caught this lovely picture of Kairi watching the penguins and love it. I'm going to try to focus a bit more time in photography because It will be pictures and film I'll have forever.

7. Carving Pumpkins

We took an afternoon to just get messy this week. Although Naminé only carved pumpkins for around about 10 seconds, Kairi had a wonderful time emptying hers out and we loved our Duck and Bat finished result!

8. The girls making dinner from scratch

I really wanted to teach the girls more about the food they eat. Where it comes from, how its made etc. So this week, they picked out a pumpkin each in Tesco, cut its guts out and turned it into soup! Kairi also made her own rolls too and the whole dish tasted and looked magical.

9. Family Photos

I'm celebrating the fact that I got some photos this week with me and the girls together... and not a selfie! So thank you to the wonderful lady that took them :)
